The first real day of the holiday! I woke up about 10 and went for a look around the house- It was amazing! Those who got up first got a fantastic fried breakfast courtesy of Jed, I was one of the lucky ones!
Had a shower after removing too dead cockroaches from the shower and then went to sunbathe! It was so hot and they provided sun loungers- This is the life. I found a random French man on a fantastic old motorcycle when I wandered down the lane. I asked in English ‘Do you speak English’ and he said ‘Non’ so I took him iver to the French speakers in the barn. He was the farmer next door who helped the owners look after the house and told us the septic tank was full so Jed called the owners. Nice! Mr Francais as we named him could also sell us local produce and wine that he made himself. We went looking for petrol in the nearest town, Fumel but we discovered that the 24 petrol machine didn’t take English cards so me, Dan, Becky and Dave went back to the house due to lack of petrol while the others went to Cahors. We sat in the garden all afternoon soaking up the sun. It was wonderful. Luckily Jed and Rose had managed to do some shopping so I drank beer all afternoon and by the time the others got back I was so drunk whilst everyone else was sober, ooops! Burgers and Cheesy mash (made with potatoes from Mr Francais) for dinner at about 10pm. Drank all evening and ended up sitting on the floor in front of the oven waiting for the second round of burgers to be ready just so I could eat one. Stuff the diet! Very drunk and don’t remember much more of the evening! :)
Bleh!! Dan got up at 4.30 after climbing in to the single bed with me at midnight. We didn’t really sleep. Showered and stuff while Jed took the drivers up to the Uni to get the cars, they got back and we all bundled in. In our car were Dan, Becky, Dave and me! Got to the Hovercraft in no time at all and boarded. Felt sick all the way and after an hour, we were in FRANCE! The long drive began. Dan drive the firset section, then I had the job of driving around Paris. It is worse than the M25! We swapped again after and got lunch then Dan drove the rest of the Motorway. By this time, we were 2 hours behind and it was 9pm! We swapped again and I drove the local roads like a maniac to get to the house. It was dark and the roads were very windy and scary! Made it to the house at 10pm! Over 12 hours door to door. Everyone else had made ir to the house and then we made pasta with tomato sauce for dinner and ended up eating about 11pm. I drank lots of beer and collapsed in bed :)
Went to town to get my Euros while Dan went to work in the morning. He made it home and we packed the car…. The journey begins!
4 hour drive across England. We made it to Jed and Roses after being stuck on the hell that is the M25 in rush hour on a Friday and ordered Pizza. It had so much cheese on it that I thought I may die! We were all very excited about the holiday but all dreading getting up so early!
Jed and Rose have the cutest two cats, one is totally oblivious to anything and the other is really shy but lovely when she speaks to you! Of course I was allergic to them but ignored it completely and ended up unable to breathe, constantly sneezing and with allergic eye! Took tablet and went to bed!
Yay, we are off to France now, via Kent for the night! See you all in a weeks time :)
Who cares about Food- not me, I am off my diet for 2 weeks from today. Had chocolate bar and cheese sandwich with butter to celebrate. Chips, bread and butter and crisps at Dans! MMMMMMMMMMM. Pizza tomorrow!
Work = boring. Not much to do but after today, no work for a week and a day ! Spoke to mum, Morgans christening same day as Queen party in London, think I can make both. Life is turning into complete nightmare!. Dorchester, London and back to Bristol all in one day. Not going to be fun!
Got home to start packing at 4- nearly died walking up my road which is VERY steep then sat down on the bed with all good intentions. Fell asleep. Woke up to the sound of a text message and it was 5. Damn it, No packing done! Started to pack more stuff into bag that I have borrowed from Cat. Still half a sleep, managed to drop box of stuff on my foot while looking for camera and contents ended up all over the floor. Went to pick up Becky and Daves stuff from Temple Meads station and marvelled at their amamzing packing skills. Home again and more packing. Managed to get slepping bag half into bag that my mum gave me and gave up. Packed washing stuff- far too much that I won’t use! 7pm- Cat arrives home and I pack the car up. 7.30pm- leave. 7.40- arrive home again due to forgetting the 8 cans of Red bull for the drive to France. Leave again and make it to Dans in one piece! More sorting out of stuff and dinner at 9pm. Cut Dans hair and went off to bed at 11.45pm. Tired!
Spoke to Karen tonight for the first time in 8 months, It was really good to talk to her. I miss her and London but am also happy in Bristol, shame you can’t have all the best bits rolled into one :( She is off to Austraila in November for a year which will be amazing. Wish I could do something like.
Boring day at work. Went to town at lunch and bought two tops and a skirt from H&M. I love shopping :) Funny evening at home talking to Cat! Life is Stressful! Didn’t manage to go swimming or pack half the stuff I needed to for France. Some far managed to only pack the following:
-Trousers
-Tops
-Skirts
-Hair dryer
and already have one full suitcase! I am sure that Dan is going to kill me for packing too much :)
Back to work- Lots to do all morning but I am so damn efficient that I had it all done in a few hours and was bored for the rest of the day. Talked to a new temp for a bit and managed to build up a few hours flexi time! Swimming in the evening- 30 lengths and then went to Asda Bedminster to get some stuff- got lost and ended up driving round Bedminster for about 15 mins trying to find it. Doh! Early night!
