Got a lift in with Dave then got the 8 O’clock train from Bristol to Birmingham, got there at 9.30 and actually managed to find the right exit for once!! It was also the first time I have been to Birmingham and it has been sunny! :) Meetings until 2 (with working lunch which comes from Tesco!!) then walked back to the train station and managed to get the earlier train as it was late! Was going to walk back from the train station in Chippenham but my foot was hurting so much by the time I got to Bristol so I went into the office for half an hour before getting the later train and getting Dan to pick me up! Foot hurting so much that I spent all evening on the sofa working on James’ website whilst he was drunk telling me what to do over msn!!!
Foot hurting so tried not to do too much during the day! Just spent the day doing family tree stuff and being lazy! Isn’t that what bank holidays are for!!!!!!!!??
Dan and I set off for Exeter about 9, I drove and we went via the A303. Took about 2 hours then wandered around town for a few mins! Met the others on the Quay at 12 and we all cycled off to the turf locks! Only a few showers along the way and it was all flat! Andi and Rosie managed to whole thing on BMX bikes! We sat out in the pub garden and had bbq food and I had a pint! Think I might have been a but tipsy on the way back! Cycled back with only one accident where Dave B fell off his bike into brambles! Picked up the car and drove to Andi’s house where we drank beer (apart from Dan), watched dvds and ordered pizza!!! Mmmmm!!! Left about 10pm and it only took an hour and a half to get home!!!
Photos from James are here!!!!
My foot has been in pain for a week and a half so decided to rest it all day so spent the day sitting on the sofa!!!! Left once to go to Sainsburys to do our monthly food shop and bought lots of low fat food!!! :)
Brian May was at the Kerrang Awards again this year! Taking place in London on 26th August, Brian presented an award to The Darkness, who are great Queen fans!!!!
Still didn’t really manage to do much at work apart from sending out an email! Our new Traffic Officers came down from Birmingham for an informal meet and greet so spent an hour doing that then went to meet James for lunch in the Shakesphere which lasted about 2 hours then went back to my desk for an hour and a half and went home!!!
Queen has become the first rock act to have an album released in Iran.
Western music is strictly censored in the Islamic republic, where homosexuality is considered a crime.
Mercury, who died in 1991, was proud of his Iranian ancestry, and illegal bootleg albums and singles made Queen one of the most popular bands in Iran.
The greatest hits album contains hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, The Miracle and I Want to Break Free, but reportedly omits a number of Queen’s love songs.
The cassette, costing less than $1 (55 pence), comes complete with translated lyrics and an explanatory leaflet.
It tells Queen fans that Bohemian Rhapsody is about a young man who has accidentally killed someone and, like Faust, sold his soul to the devil.
On the night before his execution he calls God in Arabic, “Bismillah”, and so regains his soul from Satan.
Akbar Safari, a salesman at a Tehran book and record store, said the album was already selling very well.
“It is the first rock album to hit the market legally and people are surprised and pleased to see it has the lyrics, not just the music,” he said.
First day back at work!!! Brought in my sweets and chocolate that I bought and we ate most of it during the day! Didn’t really do much all day. Spent the evening working on family tree stuff as the night before I recieved an email from a distant relative through www.genesreunited.co.uk.
Spent the whole day unpacking and sorting all our stuff from the holiday!!! Went into town to try and buy a mini trampoline and found out they were sold out in Argos in Chippenham, Swindon, Bath and online, and also in Index in Chippenham so ended up ordring one off the internet for an extra few quid!!!

I'm Sarah, I'm 28 and I'm from the West Country. I have liked Queen since 1991. I saw Roger 14 times on the Electric Fire tour and I went to 21 shows on the Queen & Paul Rodgers tour!
