Ice skating

Jamie and I met Dan at Paddington at 10.30- tried to find him by shouting ‘Roger’ but he didn’t respond!! Went on a trek round London to Kings Road, Regent Street where Dan bought an iPod and then to Marylebone to see Alessia working in her shop!!! Met James and the gang in a pub near Leicester Square!! We left Jamie and then headed off to the Ice skating at Somerset House- think we have been for 4 or 5 years in a row now! It was totally freezing!!

After the skating we went out for a meal at Zizi’s! Got in there and put my plastic bag down on the table and suddenly it was on fire! I had put in on a candle! Managed to blow it out before it burnt the place down :) Had a yummy meal and got quite drunk.

Ross and Jacki were staying at ours so they gave us a lift back. I don’t remember much of the journey as we were all asleep in the back!!

Scanning……..

I got bored over this weekend and decided it was about time to scan all those old photos of Queen events I have lying around!!!

Queen Convention 1997

Party in the park with 5ive- July 2000. I was at the front of the non gold circle in hyde park (VIPs in the gold circle)- we slept over night in the park hiding from the Police.

SAS band with Roger at Fort Brockhurst- 2001. These photos are awful and you will need to view the large size ones. On the 4th photo, the dark blob in between a man kneeling down and Roger is Rufus!

A Freddie party I went to when I was 15 in Bournemouth. I got the Brian photo in the auction and met Peter Freestone!

Freddie’s house - I think this was 1996 and the last time that Mary Austin came outside to see us.

Queen bus tour of London 1995 and 1996. The Queen fan club used to run a bus tour of London, I forget where half the places were now but they were recording studios and pubs where Queen used to go.

World’s Greatest Gigs
Channel: Channel 4
Date: Wednesday 9th November 2005

UK Music Hall of Fame continues with a one-hour countdown of the 20 seminal gigs of all time.

From Hendrix’s era-defining performance at Woodstock to Marley, Dylan and Live Aid, the show is a celebration of iconic moments in rock, exploring what turns a good gig into a heart-stopping piece of music history.

Packed with classic archive and vivid commentary from people who were there, this documentary reveals the backstage tales behind the most famous - and infamous - gigs in the history of rock and roll. Sure to be controversial for what is in and what didn’t make the cut.

ROTC at the cinema

Becky, Cat, Dan, Terry and I went along to the cinema at Cribbs Causeway to see ‘Return of the Champions’. After spending an hour on the bus to get out there, we only just made it in time! The cinema screen was screen 4. Although the actual screen was huge, the room was small but I reckon there were 50 - 100 people there! We sat near the front and settled down with our chocolate and popcorn!

Return of the Champions listed at the cinema

Ticket

The film started (rated 12) and had no adverts. The set list was something like this:

Reaching Out
Tie Your Mother Down
I Want to Break Free
Fat Bottomed Girls
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Love of My Life (about half of)
Hammer to Fall
Feel Like Making Love
Last Horizon
These are the Days of Our Lives
Radio Ga Ga
Can’t Get Enough of Your Love
A Kind of Magic
I Want it All
Bohemian Rhapsody
Show Must Go On
All Right Now (first part)
We Will Rock You (some)
We Are the Champions
God Save the Queen

So they edited like the Leicester Square set list but using the final edit of the DVD!!! Spotted me in some bits I hadn’t noticed on the DVD before just because the screen was so large!! Dan wasn’t impressed with the sound.

We all went out for a few drinks after but not too many for me for once!!

Great night! Glad I went! :)
