Terry took me on a surprise trip to St Malo!

We took the Ferry from Portsmouth after I got the train down to Fareham from Bristol and Terry picked me up on the way! We got there very early so had a few drinks in the pub before boarding!

The ferry went overnight to St Malo and arrived at some very early hour of the morning and we all got thrown off the ship! Even though we had a return ticket, we left our bags on board hoping we would get the same room back but after a few hours in port, we heard the ferry leaving but luckily it came and back and our bags were still there when we got back!

Anyway, it was freezing cold and I, as usual, didn’t have appropriate clothing on! We walked round the old walls for a while and stopped for some breakfast after an hour or two to warm us up!

We went to look at the new train station and then decided to go to the Aquarium - we walked and it took over an hour to get there after going through a big shopping centre and looked at the fish for sale which were still alive but you were meant to eat them!

We went on an underwater submarine ride while we were there and the woman controlling it forgot we were there and turned the machine off so we were stuckin the pitch black! Terry eventually went up to look what was going on and the woman looked very shocked!

Caught the bus back to the old town after I almost missed it!

Walked round again for a while and got some dinner before watching the ferry come back into Port. We then got back on the ship for the overnight crossing back to Portsmouth!
