Work

Had the most unexciting day trying to do 6 months worth of filing before I change jobs in a weeks time. It was awful- I HATE FILING!!!! Was also in the office from 8am-6.30pm. Awful!

Woohoo! We went to Bristol Zoo for an event with work today so were in the conference centre most of the day but we also got to look around the zoo at lunchtime! It was so cool as I haven’t been since I was young and we got the train up from Dorchester! Ann and I saw a lion and we walked round the reptile house!! Dan and I most go there properly one day so I can see everything!

Back down in Exeter today for our womens development course today! We learnt all about assertiveness today which seemed to involve walking around the room saying NO to various people and pretending not to listen to eachother! Another fantastic free lunch and lots of flexi time! Dropped Ann off in Bristol on the way back and phoned Dan requesting him to start making the dinner!

Woohoo! Found out I got the job that I went for on Friday!! Yay!!! Sat in a meeting all morning and felt ill. Didn’t manage to get home until 6.30 and Dan picked me up from the station! Just rested this evening! Surely I have to feel better soon!

Still feeling ill today although though I was feeling better this morning! Left at 8 to drive to Derbyshire somewhere for a meeting at 11. Managed to arrive 10 mins late. The meeting went on until 2- awful! Had a very nice lunch and set off home. Accident on M5 so I took a diversion which took an hour to get from one junction to the next. Didn’t get home in the end until 6.30 and I felt more and more awful as I was driving back. Dan was away in Harrogate doing a presentation and he seemed quite drunk when I spoke to him!!! I just went to bed and slept all evening!

Had to get the train to work today as Dave had the day off so I drove into Chippenham and parked near the station. The train was about 10 mins late so not too bad and I got to Bristol about 8.10 so had just over an hour to prepare for my interview! Did an editing test first which was ok but didn’t really have long enough to finsish it! Interview went well even though I was still feeling ill. Finished by 11 and then got on the train back to Chippenham, went to the Doctors and was home by 12.30. Slept all afternoon! Dan didn’t get back until 9.30 and we had fish and chips!! Yumm!!!!

Got up at 6.15 to go to Exeter today and had to have a shower in the dark because of the fused lights! Got lost in Sowton trying to find our Exeter office, couldn’t remember which park and ride I had to park in. Took half an hour before working out where I was and managed to turn up on time!
Still feeling quite ill and getting up so early didn’t help. Free lunch!! Dropped Marina off in Cullompton and drove home in the fantastic Golf hire car! Idiots all over the M5 but got back in 2 hours then had to get petrol (also bought a large bar of caramel!!!) . Dan cooked for us and I collapsed on the sofa. Fell asleep in front of the telly at 9 still feeling ill!

Stress!!! Had to hang around for a couple of hours waiting for the interview. Think it went ok, will find out in about a week. Have to remember that if I don’t get it, it is no reflection on how well I can do my job, its the system!!!!!!! Bloody Government recruitment policies. Didn’t really do much at work for the rest of the day. Dan left to go to Birmingham for a presentation tomorrow but came by the house on his way to give me a cuddle!!! :) He’s so cute!!! Sat under the duvet all evening as was feeling quite ill. Went to bed at 1o and managed to fuse the lights. Gave up sorting it out and slept!

Went over to Costco near lakeside this morning. Turns out that Civil Servants can sign up as a member so I might see if I can join Macro in Bristol!!! Had lunch at the local pub- I had a double cheese and bacon burger and nearly died eating it! Drove the long journey home and dan tested me for my interview!!!!

Got home, had a bath, Dan cooked and did more interview preparation!

Met up today with some girls I am on a course with at work. Managed to spend most of the day down the pub discussing stuff for the course. Nice to be out of the office for a day!!! :) Found out I got a job interview then went out to the pub with Dan for a meal and drank wine when we got back!!! Not the most productive day ever! :)
